Lerup church /Lerup kirke, Øster Han herred, Hjørring amt.
Lerup Church is situated by the entrance to Fosdalen, a valley going from Lerup steep down to the beach, Slettestrand, a very popular and beautiful nature area through a forest, giving shelter for the cool winds from the sea.
The church's nave and chorus are from the 1100s and built in granite, the tower is a few hundred years younger. The church has got some fine frescoes. Near the church are ancient fields and burial mounds; it's typical for Thy that there is a rather big concentration of burial mounds in this part of the country. Not far from the church is Vor Frue Kilde - a holy spring.
